A man has died and police are currently investigating after a worker was killed at a construction site in Brampton on Wednesday.
The incident occurred just before 1:30 p. m. on Wednesday near Countryside Drive and The Gore Road, according to Peel Regional Police.
<p. Work crews were performing road repairs when an adult male was hit by a commercial truck, police report.
Peel Regional Paramedics were called to the scene but sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the location. The paramedics did not provide information about the age of the deceased.
Peel police have informed Ontario’s Ministry of Labour regarding the workplace fatality.
The intersection at Countryside Drive and The Gore Road is closed as investigators look into the matter. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area and seek alternate routes if possible.
