A 16-year-old boy from Puslinch Township has lost his life after being hit by a minivan in Centre Wellington Township early Saturday morning.
Emergency services arrived just after midnight at the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Wellington Road 29, south of Eramosa-Garafraxa Town Line – in a rural area north of Guelph, according to a release from the Wellington County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The teenager was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the minivan stayed at the scene and did not sustain any injuries.
The OPP’s West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team is investigating what caused the crash.
