Five individuals were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Thursday night after a three-vehicle collision south of St. Thomas.

A pickup truck and an SUV collided at the intersection of John Wise Line and Fairview Road, subsequently hitting another SUV that was stopped around 6:15 p. m., according to OPP.

All five occupants of the SUV that crashed into the pickup truck were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, police reported.

Three people in the pickup truck also went to the hospital but their injuries were not life-threatening.

The passengers in the second SUV sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization, police added.

John Wise Line and Fairview Road reopened at 2:50 a. m. on Friday.

Woman Charged After Altercation at Lemonade Stand

A 61-year-old woman faces charges for assault after an incident at a lemonade stand in Walkerville left two boys with minor injuries.

According to Windsor police, two children – aged eight and 13 – were operating a lemonade stand on Gladstone Avenue near Niagara Street when they encountered a woman who “became hostile toward them.”

The woman pushed one child and knocked over another child’s chair, causing him to fall down. Both kids received minor injuries.

Officers responded on August 3 around 9 p. m. to reports of an assault. Later that night, police found the suspect at a home on Niagara Street and took her into custody.

The woman is facing two counts of assault.

If anyone has more information, they are urged to contact the Windsor Police Service major crimes unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830.
