A 22-year-old man from Etobicoke has been charged with drinking and driving after a two-car accident in Port Elgin on August 31, which resulted in minor injuries and a fire.
According to a police news release, Saugeen Shores police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to reports of the collision on Goderich Street, where one of the cars was on fire.
The driver failed a roadside breath alcohol test and was taken to the police station for more testing. The people in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries from the crash.
The 22-year-old has been charged with operation while impaired (80+) and careless driving. His driver’s license has been suspended, and his vehicle has been impounded.
