A 58-year-old man has been charged for reportedly making threats and hate-filled remarks towards employees at Tim Hortons in Whitby, Ont., earlier this month.
According to Durham Regional Police, the man visited multiple Tim Hortons locations and their parking lots between Feb. 11 and 21 where he allegedly made these threats and comments.
He is also accused of threatening drivers.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The police found the suspect in his vehicle on Feb. 21, and after a traffic stop, he was taken into custody without any issues.
In a news release on Wednesday, authorities identified the suspect as James Newlands, who does not have a fixed address.
He faces five counts of uttering threats along with one count of criminal harassment.
