SEPTEMBER
HOSPICE FUNDRAISER: A fundraiser for the Norfolk-Haldimand Hospice will take place at the Waterford Legion, located at 223 Nichol St., on Saturday, Sept. 12 with dinner served from 4 to 6 p. m. The menu includes beef brisket, BBQ chicken, smoked mac & cheese, veggies, and a bun. Advance tickets are $35 each; tickets at the door will be $40. Admission without a meal costs $10 per ticket. Live music will feature The Atkinson Brothers Band from 3 to 6 p. m., followed by the Wild High Band from 6 to 8 p. m., and Street Survivors from 8 to 10 p. m. Tickets can be bought in the club room at the Legion.
WAR RE-ENACTMENT: The annual War of 1812 re-enactment is set for Backus Heritage Conservation Area on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a. m. to 4:30 p. m., and Sunday, Sept.13 from10 a. m. to3:30 p. m. This event includes battle demonstrations, food interpretations from the era of1812, dance lessons, and more. Cost is included with admission to the conservation area – $16 per vehicle (up to7 people). It’s located at1267 Second Concession Road in Port Rowan.

WINGS AND WHEELS: Wings & Wheels Family Fun Day hosted by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association takes place on Saturday, Sept.12 from9a. m. to4 p. m. at Tillsonburg Regional Airport. The event features hundreds of classic cars alongside their fleet of World War II Harvard aircraft. Public flights in a Harvard aircraft (weather permitting) are available; to pre-purchase a flight, email crewflights@harvards. com. The airport will also have historical exhibits, re-enactors, a garage sale, a book sale, a kids’ zone, a BBQ, and food trucks. Admission is by cash donation, and parking is free.
BRUNCH: Join us at Waterford Legion located at223 Nichol St. on Sunday, Sept.13 from9a. m. to noon. Cost is$15 for adults,$8 for children ages6-12, and free for kids under6.
DELHI & DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: A meeting will occur on Monday, Sept14at Delhi Senior Friendship Centre located at418 Queen St. in Delhi startingat7:30 p. m. Guest speaker Dylan Cowan works closely with Kevin Kavenaugh at South Coast Gardens and will discuss growing flowers and food together. All are welcome.
