Fuel prices are climbing in Toronto and southern Ontario.

Drivers experienced a small dip at the pumps on Friday with a nine-cent decrease for regular gas, but now it’s going back up.

The cost for a regular litre is expected to rise by eight cents overnight across most of the area, according to affordableenergy. ca.

This will bring it to $1.869 in many locations on Saturday, including the Greater Toronto Area.

Some places might have slightly lower prices – in Belleville and Kingston it will be $1.809.

Peterborough will see a price of $1.839 after a seven-cent increase.

The price of premium gas is also predicted to rise on Saturday, following a nine-cent drop on Friday, according to affordableenergy. ca.

This too will go up by eight cents per litre overnight across much of the region, bringing it to between $2.109 and $2.179, depending on your location.

In the GTA, it’ll be priced at $2.169 starting Saturday.

The cost of diesel is soaring as well.

While gas prices dropped on Friday, diesel actually went up by nine cents in most areas.

Now it’s set for another hike of 11 cents by Saturday.

This will raise it to $2.569 per litre throughout most of southern Ontario.

A report from affordableenergy. ca indicates that St. John’s will have the highest regular gas prices in Canada this Saturday at $2.134 per litre after a six-cent increase overnight.

The lowest prices can be found in Regina at $1.529 following a ten-cent jump. (As of Friday, drivers there were paying $1.429 for a litre of regular.)
