This month, the Toronto area will be buzzing with food, culture, and sports as ARC WORLD makes its comeback in Markham on Sept. 12, offering a full day dedicated to Asian culture and activities.
Put together by the Asian Roots Collective, the festival will take over the Hilton Markham, showcasing food, entertainment, sports, and community engagement.
One of the main attractions is always ARC HOOPS, a celebrity basketball game co-hosted by Canadian actor Simu Liu and NBA star Jeremy Lin. This year’s lineup features even more big names like Phil Wang from Wong Fu Productions, comedian and content creator Leenda Dong, and Jason Y. Lee from Jubilee Media.
The funds raised from the game will benefit youth programs through the Asian Roots Collective and the Jeremy Lin Foundation.
Food plays a big role during the event as well; ARC Eats pop-ups will highlight popular local spots like Good Behaviour, GMNI, and Pai. A market will also provide more shopping options with vendors such as Oven Theory and Heroes World comic shop celebrating its 25th anniversary at this festival.
Although ARC WORLD takes place in Markham, keep in mind that the celebrity basketball game is hosted at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre located at 875 Morningside Ave.
