A movie enthusiast in Canada has racked up an impressive number of films at Cineplex in recent years.
The cinema chain is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Cine Club membership program and, as part of that, has shared a jaw-dropping statistic about one of its standout members.
Cineplex revealed that a Cine Club member from Whitby, Ontario has seen over 550 films since joining the program at its launch in 2021.
That breaks down to about 110 movies a year for the past five years, which means more than two films each week.
Cineplex noted that this member has enjoyed benefits from Cine Club worth more than $17,000, including discounts on snacks and special ticket prices.

“This month, Cine Club, Cineplex’s movie subscription service, marks its fifth anniversary, celebrating a milestone that reflects a larger shift in how Canadians are choosing entertainment,” a press release stated.
“With 2026 bringing a wider variety of Hollywood hits, original films, horror favorites, family-friendly titles, anime, international cinema and event programming, Canadians are looking for ways to enjoy the big screen more frequently.”
There are over 250,000 members in Cine Club. The program provides special ticket pricing, concessions discounts, and gaming savings at Playdium and The Rec Room.
