The Ontario Provincial Police have taken a Lanark County resident into custody following an investigation into child sexual exploitation.
A search warrant was carried out at a residence in Perth on May 13, according to a news release.
During the operation, officers from the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), along with the Lanark County OPP and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit, seized multiple electronic devices.
This investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old Brendan Kelly from Perth, who now faces the following charges:
Two counts of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(4); Make available child sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(3).
The individual has been released after a bail hearing and is set to appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 15.
