Costco enthusiasts in Ontario might soon have some exciting news. A proposed project in Caledon has reached a new stage, bringing the long-awaited warehouse store closer to becoming a reality.
The planned 36-acre retail space near Creditview and Mayfield roads is currently being reviewed by the Town of Caledon after receiving new submissions from the development team.
At the center of this development is Costco, which is expected to be the main attraction and occupy the largest area of the site. There are also plans for a standalone gas station on the property.
According to the Town of Caledon’s Site Plan Application, this commercial complex would feature 10 buildings divided into two blocks, with a collector road running between them. Along with the warehouse store and gas station, there will be various commercial buildings in the remaining spaces.

Costco, marked as Retail A on Block 1 in the latest site plan, is highly anticipated by locals. This project – initially submitted to Caledon’s Town Council back in November 2024 – has been closely monitored by community members. If given approval, Costco would take up 167,021 square feet of retail space in the northern section of Block 1.
The developer, Glen Schnarr & Associates Inc., has made revisions to their original proposal and sent updated plans after getting feedback from municipal staff and other reviewing agencies. Following a meeting on June 16, they received clearance to proceed further in the approval process since they met all technical requirements for their site plan.
A recent staff report mentioned that another application related to this development was submitted to remove a holding provision on part of the property-this planning step could allow construction to start if approved.

Besides Costco, this development also includes plans for a fast-food restaurant with a drive-thru and a Chalo! Fresh Co grocery store that will cover 46,995 square feet in Block 2.
While details about other businesses haven’t been shared yet, more information should come out as this project continues through planning and approval stages. An opening date hasn’t been provided either, and it’s unclear when final decisions on these applications will happen.
A Costco location in Caledon would likely be welcomed by many residents who currently travel to existing stores in Brampton or Mississauga for larger grocery trips. The wholesale retailer has consistently been popular among shoppers across Ontario; it was named Canada’s top grocery retailer again in 2025.
There’s been an increase in Costco developments throughout Ontario recently. Earlier this year, Oakville’s City Council gave final approval for another new Costco store located at Oakville-Burlington border.
The proposed site will be located at 12100 Creditview Rd. in Caledon, Ont.
