Planning dates for a provincial racing series isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Using previous seasons as a guide, the folks at the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series set the 2026 race day schedule months ago. At that time, they didn’t think they’d need to change any of the rescheduled dates.
On Saturday, August 8th, Legend Car races were part of a special event with the Ontario Sportsman Series at Peterborough Speedway. However, rain earlier in the day and an 11:00 p. m. curfew from the municipality pushed back the main event to the first spot on Saturday, August 22nd.
Forecasts predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms led track officials to cancel that evening’s planned program. With two more race days left on the 2026 regular season calendar, teams from the Ontario Legend Car Series will be working alongside Peterborough Speedway staff to see if there’s a chance to add another show during the 33rd annual B& G Towing & Recovery Autumn Colours Classic.
