Voters in the areas of Scarborough Southwest, York-Simcoe, and Hamilton East-Stoney Creek can participate in advance polling before the byelections on Sept. 3.

A byelection is taking place in Scarborough Southwest because Doly Begum, who represented the NDP since 2018, left her seat in February. The Conservatives aim to maintain the seats that were left vacant in York-Simcoe by Caroline Mulroney and in Hamilton East-Stoney Creek, which was previously held by Neil Lumsden. Click here for a list of candidates.

Advance Voting Schedule

Advance polls will be open from 10 a. m. to 8 p. m., August 26-28.

Voting Locations

You can find where to vote early on the Elections Ontario website, check your voter information card if you have one, use the Elections Ontario app, or contact your local election office for details.

What to Bring

You need to bring ID that shows both your name and residential address. A voter information card-either physical or digital-can serve as proof of address, but you’ll also need one more piece of ID with your name on it.

Click here for examples of accepted ID.

Key Voting Dates

Aug. 21 to Sept. 2: Access assistive voting technology at your local elections office; it’s also available by appointment on election day. Aug. 28, 6 p. m. ET: Last day to submit your application for mail-in voting. Sept. 2: Vote at your local election office until 6 p. m. ET before election day. Sept. 3: Completed mail-in ballots must reach Elections Ontario by 6 p. m. ET to be counted.
