With many people being cautious about spending these days, musical lovers will be pleased to find out that they don’t need to shell out a fortune to enjoy top-notch Broadway classics live.

This week marks the start of a popular concert tour that’s been bringing the works of Andrew Lloyd Webber (the genius behind hits like Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sunset Boulevard, and Evita) to cities across Canada, and it’s kicking off for its final run.

Music of the Night: The Concert Tour is set to begin its last leg in Hamilton at the Mc Intyre Performing Arts Centre on March 6. The tour will travel through various venues before wrapping up with a final performance on April 4 in Moncton, N. B.

The tour is produced by Sound the Alarm: Music/Theatre, a company dedicated to raising awareness around social and cultural issues through large-scale performing arts events that often reach underserved rural areas. It promises a live band and outstanding singers who will perform some of Webber’s greatest songs.

“We’ve made it a big priority to go to smaller communities along the way, places like Manitou in Manitoba with a population of about 1,000 people,” Alan Corbishley, founder of STA, tells INsauga. com. He mentions that they managed to fill the 300-seat Manitou Opera House.

“We go to smaller, underserved communities with high-end, world-class productions.”

The Spring 2026 tour will visit over two dozen towns and cities in southern Ontario before heading east for the first time. After Hamilton’s show, the cast and crew will move on to perform at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre on March 7, First Ontario Arts Centre in Milton on March 11, Rose Theatre in Brampton on March 13, Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on March 27 and Pickering Casino Resort on March 28.

Alongside these stops, performances are scheduled at theatres in Brantford, Barrie, Parry Sound, Ottawa, Cornwall, Brockville, Lindsay, Belleville, Guelph, Chatham and London.

The show features talented performers such as tenor Adam Fisher (Jesus Christ Superstar), Cailin Stadnyk (Come From Away), baritone Nathan Keoughan (La reine-garçon), Alexandra Grant and Aaron Hastelow.

Corbishley shares that this tour has been well-received since it began traveling back in 2019 (with a break due to COVID). However he notes that getting audiences into theaters post-pandemic can still be quite challenging as many are tightening their budgets when it comes to leisure activities.

“For the most part we tend to get great responses. People appreciate our efforts. The economy right now is tricky; folks are being more selective about what shows they choose. It’s definitely a different landscape,” he explains.

Despite this challenge though STA- which also put together A Whole New World Tour-has seen positive momentum since it started nearly ten years ago. One aspect contributing to their success is their focus on familiar classic songs that resonate with many audiences.

“We’ve grown exponentially since COVID; we’ve done really well. We’re kind of an anomaly post-COVID because people have wanted outings where they know popular songs,” he notes.

The STA launched from Vancouver back in 2017 and has sold over 100 thousand tickets for its productions entirely funded by ticket sales-something they believe sets them apart within the arts sector.

This year STA recently toured BC showcasing Ebony Roots-a production honoring those from African descent-and highlighted Angel’s Bone which deals with human trafficking themes.

According to Corbishley Music of the Night connects with audiences not through serious topics but rather through nostalgia.
“It’s all the greatest hits of Andrew Lloyd Webber so you’ll get all his most satisfying repertoire all at once. It brings joy during times when we really need some escapism from reality,” he says while discussing how memorable moments from past decades come flooding back when enjoying this music – especially highlights like Phantom of the Opera!

While younger crowds may not be as familiar with Webber’s works compared recent hits such as Hamilton or Wicked-the timing aligns perfectly since some major productions based around his work are also making waves worldwide right now!

“Webber seems poised for resurgence right now; Nicole Scherzinger just won her Tony award performing Sunset Boulevard! Plus there’s even talk about new Starlight Express staging happening soon over in London!”

“For attendees-many bring along their grandkids too-it becomes an experience everyone should cherish together! Everyone oughta catch Phantom once!”

The shows come simple yet powerful offering communities often missed access incredible voices timeless melodies!
“We’ve got powerhouse singers here; some truly amongst best country has,”
“Corbishley recognizes impact affordability pricing turnout especially economic uncertainty.”

“We’ve donated tickets underprivileged families B-town offering tiered pricing starting only $37.”

“The lowest rates available relief packages provided those needing assistance economic situations:“
“Our aim’s ensuring everyone feels welcome regardless current situation-we recommend standard price patrons support our organization thrive.”
