Larry Arthur Seguin, a loving husband, father, G-Pa, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on August 2, 1948, in Windsor, Ontario, Larry was the dear son of the late Cecilia and Arthur Seguin. He is predeceased by his beloved brother, Denny.
Larry’s journey of love began with his wife, Elaine Seguin (nee Paré), with whom he enjoyed an incredible bond for nearly 56 years. Their marriage represented true partnership, built on deep friendship and unwavering love that inspired everyone around them.
Larry was a committed businessman who dedicated over 60 years to Home Hardware. He started working in his father’s store where he developed a passion for the trade that lasted his whole life. In 1988, he proudly took ownership of Tecumseh Home Hardware and later expanded his legacy by acquiring Essex Home Hardware in 2013. His sharp business acumen and hard-working spirit were admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Outside of work, Larry cherished life’s simple joys. He loved golf and spent countless days on the greens with friends like Jim and Roger. Larry appreciated sunny vacations in Florida and enjoyed time spent with his friends down there. A lively card player as well, Larry participated in the Windsor Men’s Euchre League where his quick wit and “smart aleck” humor matched perfectly with his card-playing skills.
Larry’s life was made richer by his loving family. He was proud to be the father of Brent (Bonnie-Dee) and Kimberly while also being a devoted grandfather to Spencer (Kristie), Alex, Rylie, Cooper, Trevor, and Delilah. His siblings Carol (Frank) and Bernard along with many nieces and nephews held special places in his heart. Additionally, Larry’s in-laws Janis, Patti, Linda (Sam), Connie (Tim), Mary Lou, Theresa (Mike), and Maureen (Barry) were treasured members of his extended family.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Windsor Hospice for their compassionate care-especially to Larry’s nurse Mike for extraordinary support and great conversations during this time. They also wish to thank their family doctor Dave Paterson for consistently advocating for Larry throughout this journey. Finally they want to acknowledge their past and present Home Hardware team for their dedication over the years.
