Halton police have shared surveillance footage that shows three men entering an Oakville shop where a 43-year-old man was found dead last year as they intensify efforts to identify the individuals.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) made the video public on Wednesday, Aug. 12, over 16 months after Baljeet “Bally” Toki was discovered deceased inside Montagio Custom Tailoring at 145 Lakeshore Rd. E. in downtown Oakville.
Authorities are appealing to the public for help in identifying the three men who were seen entering the building on March 22, 2025.
According to investigators, the men entered through an alley door around 12:06 p. m. and exited at approximately 1:39 p. m.
Later that day, around 5:30 p. m., police received a call regarding Toki’s body being found inside the custom tailoring business.
His death was ruled a homicide and taken over by the HRPS Major Crime Bureau for further investigation.
Police have now released descriptions of the three men seen in the surveillance footage.
The first suspect is described as a white male, taller than six feet with a slim physique and short hair. He wore a grey sports or suit jacket, dark pants, and white high-top shoes. Authorities noted he was carrying a gift bag with yellow tissue paper inside.
Investigators are particularly interested in his baseball cap which has camouflage on the back, a solid dark front, and features a circular logo.
The second suspect is described as a Black male of slim build who is shorter than the first man. He wore a blue hoodie, dark pants, and white shoes.
The third suspect is also described as Black with a slim build similar to that of the second suspect. He wore dark clothing and black shoes that had distinctive red laces.
Additionally, police reported that this third man carried a cross-body bag featuring a red stripe down its middle strap.
All three men were seen arriving at and leaving in a black Kia Forte, according to authorities.
Toki was identified as the victim shortly after his death was discovered.
At that time , police stated they believed his death was an isolated incident with no known danger to public safety.
Toki , originally from Australia , had recently moved to Canada and ran Montagio Custom Tailoring on Lakeshore Road. He gained recognition for his work in men’s fashion , having been mentioned by various fashion publications and websites as an expert on men’s style trends.
The release of this surveillance footage marks an important appeal to the public regarding this ongoing investigation.
