This month, hundreds of athletes, coaches, officials, and families from all over Ontario will travel to Whitby for the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s (OLA) “A” qualifiers.
The “A” qualifiers are known as Ontario’s top event for qualifying teams in the U13, U15, and U17 box lacrosse categories.
After kicking off in Orangeville, the teams will continue with the second half of the round robin in Whitby at Iroquois Park Sports Complex from July 24-26.
Whitby isn’t just hosting; they’re also competing in these qualifiers.
The Whitby Warriors will field two teams across two divisions – the U13 Whitby Warriors 1, ranked #3 in Ontario, and the U17 Whitby Warriors, ranked #4 in Ontario.
By the end of this weekend, the top six teams from each division will secure spots at the “Final Six A Provincial Championships” happening in Whitby from August 6-8.
This is where champions for U13 and U15 will be determined; meanwhile, U17 “A” Provincial Champions will be decided during the Ontario Summer Games in Kitchener.
