Championship MMA is making its way back to Barrie. Fight Night Barrie returns to Sadlon Arena on Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, with Title Quest, featuring UFC veteran TJ “The Truth” Laramie squaring off against former LFA featherweight champion Javier “El Mariachi” Garcia in a five-round battle for North American gold. In the co-main event, Ontario’s Cesar “the Hulk” Bonilla will face Bellator veteran Shaun “The Bully” Asher from Ohio for the North American middleweight title.
After 1,800 fans packed Sadlon Arena for the series debut on August 15, Title Quest is set to elevate the excitement: championship belts are up for grabs, along with skilled international fighters and an action-packed night of professional and amateur MMA approved by the Ontario Athletics Commission right in Simcoe County.
A Major Event Right Here in Barrie
The sport of mixed martial arts is booming in Canada, and Canadian athletes are competing at elite levels within the UFC. The cards at Fight Night Barrie feature fighters emerging from gyms that produce today’s top Canadian talent, including their direct students stepping into the cage at Sadlon Arena.
For many fans, watching the UFC feels distant or requires traveling hours to catch it live. Fight Night Barrie brings that experience closer: a major arena atmosphere with big-event production, walkouts under dazzling lights, and a live pay-per-view broadcast. It allows fans access to world-class fights just a short drive away while giving aspiring competitors a genuine professional stage and clear path forward.
This also represents a fresh addition to nightlife in Barrie. Fight Night Barrie introduces premier live entertainment to the city’s offerings, attracting visitors from both the GTA and northern Ontario into local eateries, bars, and hotels. This isn’t just a one-time event; Title Quest marks the first of four shows planned through August 2027-there’s more on the horizon.
Main Event: TJ “The Truth” Laramie vs. Javier “El Mariachi” Garcia
Featherweight (145 lbs) · 5 rounds · North American Championship
TJ “The Truth” Laramie (16-5) stands as one of Ontario’s most accomplished featherweights ever. Hailing from Windsor and training at Maximum Training Centre since he was 12 years old, he turned pro in 2015 and became a two-promotion champion before even being able to rent a car-holding featherweight titles with both TKO MMA and Prospect Fighting Championships. Notably, he defeated future UFC fighter Charles Jourdain over five rounds and defended his TKO belt with a fifth-round TKO before an excited crowd at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
In 2020, Laramie participated in Dana White’s Contender Series where he finished Daniel Swain in round one to secure his spot in the UFC; he went on to fight twice inside the Octagon. Since leaving UFC competition he has been unstoppable: winning four consecutive bouts with eight career knockouts alongside six first-round finishes. Now he’s bringing that valuable experience back home for this North American title shot.
Javier “El Mariachi” Garcia (14-7) comes from Covina, California as an experienced Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who has fought across major regional promotions worldwide. He earned his spot as Legacy Fighting Alliance’s seventh featherweight champion in 2023 after defeating Elijah Johns via arm-triangle choke. With over 280 fighters launched into the UFC by LFA alone-Garcia has also competed for Combate Americas as well as Cage Warriors across Europe-he even traveled across seas in March 2025 seeking out Cage Warriors’ featherweight title challenge at London’s O2 Arena. Eight of his victories have come by submission-and he claimed victory again last June.
This matchup pits knockout power from a seasoned UFC competitor against submission skills of a former champ: Canada versus America-for five intense rounds-with North American gold awaiting whoever prevails.
Co-Main Event: Cesar “Hulk” Bonilla vs. Shaun Asher
Middleweight (185 lbs) · North American Championship
Cesar “Hulk” Bonilla from Windsor is considered among Ontario’s fiercest finishers within its middleweight ranks right now-having battled within top regional circuits while taking his talents internationally too; his past two fights reveal everything needed to know: finishing opponents back-to-back via first-round kimura submissions-in December 2025 then March 2026-all wrapped up within just under ninety seconds each time! Once Bonilla locks onto an arm-it’s game over!
On other side stands Shaun “The Bully” Asher hailing originally out of Decatur Ohio-a grizzled veteran who has fought under Bellator banners twice along with RFA & Eagle FC sharing cages against names like upcoming contender Misha Cirkunov & former vet Yorgan De Castro; establishing himself with remarkable knockout records throughout Ohio circuits leading him towards winning titles during Empire Fight Series competitions having amassed more than half victories via KO strikes while still active means danger lurks whenever Asher steps into action!
This presents thrilling potential as we see Ontario’s grappling prowess clash directly head-on against experienced striking abilities found amongst Bellator stars-and it offers Bonilla chance keep championship glory rooted deeply here close-by among home-province crowd cheering loud!

You watch it on screen or travel hours seeing live ,” said Leslie Klatt , CEO Official Fight Group Companies promoter overseeing proceedings happening during night.”We’re bringing level home. Arena production pay-per-view fighters coming same gyms involved developing Canada ’stop talent. Title Quest showcases veteran Windsor fighting ex-champ along belts line while clubs raise funds each time someone buys ticket. This biggest card area seen yet , and we’re only getting started.” p >
