“It’s not ideal, that’s for sure,” Grant said. “We’re at the point where we’re trying to find teams to play that can get us prepared (for eliminations).
“But… maybe there’s something to be said about being fresh this weekend too because we overachieved from what we thought we were going to do.”The Brigade beat Tecumseh Thunder with a score of 4-3 in a semifinal earlier Monday. Cole Brydges pitched an entire game while Blake Butler scored on a wild pitch during bottom sixth innings breaking a tie at three all.
The last three senior teams – Stars, Brigade and Thunder – also represent Ontario at Canadian U22 championships happening this weekend in Tecumseh.
“There’s so much talent down in these border towns,” Grant said.
The Brigade kicked off with a solid win against East York by scoring 14-4. Seth Ainsworth threw a complete game; Kyle Moloney hit a homer along with five RBIs while Wes Brooks added another homer.
After losing to Milton with a score of 9-4; they overcame four errors defeating Oakville by making it an eight-six game as Brydges gave away just two earned runs throughout his complete-game victory.

Derek Masse had an impressive start while veteran Mike Damchuk made his debut for twenty twenty-six coming off relief securing nine-five win against Ilderton.
Logan Buntrock delivered five-hitter pitching through all innings resulting in five-two victory over Etobicoke.
The Brigade retains six players (Wade Babula, Brennan Healy, Keegan Brandon , Alex Mc Lean , Eric Steeves , and Damchuk) along with two coaches (Joel Ainsworth & Grant) who were part of their two thousand nineteen Ontario AAA championship squad. Additionally finalists during twenty twenty-two & twenty twenty-four seasons along placing third last year.
