People dealing with foot and ankle issues now have a fresh option for treatment in Sarnia.

Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Hyder Ali Khan has recently become part of the professional staff at Bluewater Health.

Dr. Ali Khan earned his Doctor of Medicine, completed his Family Medicine Residency, and his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University.

In a news release, he expressed his enthusiasm about joining the team.

“I was drawn to Bluewater Health because of the strong reputation of the orthopaedic group in Sarnia, the collaborative environment, and the opportunity to provide high-quality foot and ankle and lower extremity surgical care,” he said. “As someone from La Salle, Ontario, and having trained in southwestern Ontario, it was important to me to build my career in this region, where my wife and our families are located nearby. I am grateful for the opportunity to join Bluewater Health and look forward to working with an excellent team of orthopaedic surgeons while serving patients and families in the community.”

Bluewater Health Chief of Staff and Vice President of Medical Affairs Dr. Mike Haddad mentioned that Dr. Ali Khan is a fantastic addition to their team.

“Recruiting talented physicians is one of the most important ways we continue to improve care for patients in Sarnia-Lambton,” said Dr. Haddad. “Dr. Ali Khan brings valuable expertise in foot and ankle surgery that will complement the strengths of our orthopaedic surgery team and help improve access to specialized care closer to home. We are pleased to welcome him to Bluewater Health and look forward to the contributions he will make for our patients and community.”

With facilities in Sarnia and Petrolia, Bluewater Health serves around 131,000 residents.

The organization includes nearly 2,500 professional staff members and volunteers.
