The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is asking for help after one of its Wheels of Hope vehicles was stolen in Whitby.

Wheels of Hope is a program run by volunteers that assists patients with transportation to and from their cancer treatments.

The vehicle was taken around 2:15 a. m. Thursday, outside the Canadian Tire on Consumers Drive, near Brock Street.

The missing vehicle is a Honda Odyssey with the license plate number BWKP 752.

“The event is extremely disappointing for the organization, the volunteer drivers who lead the local program and the people in the community who rely on the service to transport them to and from cancer treatment and appointments,” noted representatives. “The Canadian Cancer Society’s Wheels of Hope program is made possible by local fundraising events, community-minded businesses and through the generosity of donors from across the country. CCS was excited to have recently acquired this vehicle to better meet the needs of people in Durham affected by cancer.”

Anyone with information can call Durham police at 1-888-579-1520.
