The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking into a tragic motorcycle accident that took place southeast of London on Monday evening, resulting in a motorcyclist’s death.
Emergency crews were called out just after 5 p. m. following reports of a collision on Simcoe Street in Tillsonburg, between West Town Line and Goshen Street, according to OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk during a public address.
Sanchuk explained that the motorcyclist collided with the back of an SUV and was thrown from the bike. The rider was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away later, Sanchuk mentioned.
The SUV driver didn’t suffer any injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed the age or identity of the deceased individual.
As investigations continue, police are urging anyone who might have dashcam or business surveillance footage from the area to come forward and share it with them.
Simcoe Street was closed for several hours on Monday night between West Town Line and Goshen Street.
