Police in Mississauga have recovered one of the two luxury SUVs that were stolen earlier this week from the driveways of homes in Guelph.

The other vehicle remains missing as investigators from Guelph Police look into whether the two thefts are connected.

According to police, both incidents involved 2025 Lincoln Navigators that were targeted by thieves in the southern part of the city.

Just after 8 a. m. on Wednesday, a homeowner near Downey Road and Ptarmigan Drive reported that his white 2025 Lincoln Navigator had been taken overnight.

The vehicle’s tracking system indicated its location was in Mississauga, where officers later found it, according to police.

Investigators did not specify exactly where the SUV was located or if any arrests had been made or suspects identified.

Around 24 hours later, on Thursday morning, another resident living near Goodwin Drive and Dominion Drive reported that his black 2025 Lincoln Navigator was stolen from his driveway.

This vehicle has not yet been recovered.

“It is not known if the two thefts are related,” police stated on Thursday, noting that they are continuing their investigation to find any connections between these events.

If anyone has information relevant to these thefts, they are encouraged to contact the Guelph Police Break, Enter and Auto Theft squad at 519-824-1212, ext. 7125, or email [email protected].

Authorities in southwestern Ontario remind residents that luxury vehicle thefts are a persistent issue throughout many communities in the Greater Toronto Area and urge them to take precautions against auto theft.

“This can include parking indoors when possible or in well-lit areas, ensuring vehicle doors and windows are closed and locked, employing anti-theft devices to prevent vehicles from being started or steered and using devices to block signals from electronic keys,” police advised.

Investigators also encourage individuals to report any suspicious activity around unattended vehicles, especially during nighttime hours.
