Police are looking into a suspicious fire that occurred early Friday morning in Richmond Hill.
Emergency responders arrived at a vehicle fire near Bathurst Street and Regent Street around 2 a. m., according to York police on social media platform X.
The flames were contained to the driveway of a home and damaged two vehicles, said Const. Kevin Nebrija in an emailed statement.
No other damage was reported to the house, and residents managed to evacuate safely, he noted.
York paramedics stated they were on site but did not treat or transport any patients.
Investigators will be canvassing the area for video footage and other evidence since the incident has been “deemed to be suspicious,” according to Nebrija.
