GIBSON, Carol Jean: January 4, 1935-July 20, 2026.
Carol passed away on July 20, 2026 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in her 91st year. She was the loving wife of the late John Ward Gibson ‘Jack’. Her children Susan (Craig), Doug (Holly), Rob (Marlene), Larry (Wendy), and Donna will miss her dearly. GG will be remembered fondly by her 15 grandchildren; Travis, Jad, Brendon, Tristin, Courtney, Kylie, Grant, Larry, Ben, Madeline, Olivia, Ashley, Mallory, Brittany, and Jack. She is also survived by her brother Robert Ferguson (the late Carole) and sister-in-law Anne Sargent (the late Ron). Many nieces and nephews along with cousins and extended family and friends will feel her absence deeply. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Audrey Ferguson as well as her brother Don Ferguson (Marie) and sister Verla Clarke. A private family service will take place at Mark Street United Church on Monday, July 27th with interment to follow in Rosemount Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life Reception is scheduled for Monday, July 27th from 1:00 to 4:00pm at Highland Park Funeral Centre. Throughout her life Carol wore many hats; she was a businesswoman (Owner of the Kathryn Shop), a proud member of the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame; an active participant and quilter at Mark Street United Church; known for sharing delicious baked goods; and a wonderful hostess. Her family feels a significant loss from her passing.
