Marvin Dean Hill, 76, from Ontario, NY, passed away after a brief illness on 04/13/2026 in Bradenton, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Kless; two stepsons, Andrew (Megan) Kless and Philip (Courtney) Kless; grandchildren, Nora and Scott; Sylvia’s step-daughter Rebecca Marsh (John) and her grandchildren Chloe and Max Marsh; brothers Leon (Valentina) and Daniel (Donna); sister Judy (Gregg) Cavagnaro; along with many nieces and nephews.
Marv was born in Rochester, NY, on 01/21/50 and grew up on the family farm on Stony Point Road in Spencerport. In 1964, his family moved to Clyde where he graduated high school in 1967. Marv lived in Webster, Ballston Spa, and Pultneyville before making his home in Ontario.
He graduated from Alfred State College and the University of Georgia. He worked at the University of Rochester before enjoying a long career as an administrator with the NYS Department of Health, earning many commendations for his efforts.
For over 40 years, Marv was an enthusiastic sailor with the Pultneyville Yacht Club and the Mariner’s Club. He also had many enjoyable years competing in golf and tennis leagues both in NY and at the Perico Bay Club in Bradenton, Florida. His love for nature began early with hunting trips. Recently he showcased his beautiful singing voice when he performed a solo of ‘Bring Him Home’ with the Perico Chorale.
Marvin was a caring man who lived out his faith every day. He will be deeply missed by his family as well as countless friends he made throughout his life.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at North Ontario Methodist Church located at 7200 Ontario Center Road, Ontario, NY 14519.
