Police are looking into a shooting that took place in downtown Kitchener on Monday afternoon.
Just before 5 p. m., police posted on X, previously known as Twitter, advising people to stay away from the area of King Street W., between Young Street and Ontario Street. They mentioned that officers were “investigating reports of gunshots into a Kitchener business.”
“There are no reports of any physical injuries,” police stated.
Information about the incident wasn’t available right away.
Yellow police tape cordoned off King Street. The glass from a bus shelter outside the Pur Cannabis store was seen shattered on the ground.
“Expect an increase in police presence in the area,” police said on social media.
