OTTAWA – The video showing a well-known Sikh fitness influencer being asked to leave a Windsor gym for wearing his kirpan while working out has resulted in no job loss for the staff member involved.
A statement from Good Life Fitness confirmed to the that the employee who questioned Tik Toker Gurpartap Singh Khalsa about wearing his ceremonial dagger at the gym hasn’t been let go, despite what some social media discussions had implied.
In a widely circulated incident online, Khalsa, known on Tik Tok as “dreambodygurp” for his content about faith and fitness, is shown being approached by staff at Good Life Fitness.
The female staff member raised concerns regarding safety related to Khalsa wearing a kirpan-a symbolic knife carried by initiated Sikhs as part of their faith-while exercising.
What is said in the video
“You’re scared that I’m going to take this religious symbol and kill somebody,” Khalsa remarks in footage he recorded during this encounter.

“What I’m saying is that you have a weapon on your person; a member has brought it to my attention. For everyone’s safety at this gym, I’m asking you to leave,” says the female staff member during their conversation.
“We’re a private gym; we reserve the right to deny entry because you’re not allowed to have this.”
Khalasa then questions why she didn’t notice his kirpan when he entered: “They don’t pay you to look around? They don’t pay you to be aware?”
“You just let any person into this gym?”
The employee stood her ground: “You’re also harassing me right now,” which Khalsa promptly denied.
“I’m getting kicked out of this gym because these folks are claiming my kirpan is dangerous,” he states into his camera.
What Good Life Fitness said about their interaction
Despite rumors circulating online suggesting that she lost her job due to this exchange Good Life issued a statement confirming those claims were inaccurate.
