The biggest South Asian street festival in Toronto is back, and it’s ready to bring a splash of colour, lively music, and delicious food to the city. Tamil Fest 2025 is celebrating its 11th year this month, taking over Markham Road in Scarborough for two exciting days filled with performances, tasty treats, and a strong sense of community pride.
Dubbed the largest “Tamil street festival outside of the Indian subcontinent,” Tamil Fest is set to attract around 250,000 attendees this year.
The organizers are preparing for an even larger crowd than before – one of the busiest streets in the city will be closed off to make way for festival-goers.
<p Expect dance performances, spicy South Asian cuisine, and local vendors that will transform the event into an unforgettable sensory experience.
This year’s lineup of headliners remains under wraps, but past festivals have featured both international stars and local talents. So you can expect an amazing group of special guests at Tamil Fest 2025.
According to the event organizers, their aim is to create connections between communities through culture. They plan to achieve this by sharing diverse music, food, and vibes that everyone in Toronto can enjoy.
Entry is free! Just bring your appetite and love for community spirit.
Tamil Fest 2025 will take place on August 23 and 24 at Markham Road and Mc Nicoll Avenue.
