Authorities in Durham Region report that a 16-year-old has been charged with murder following the death of a man involved in a fight outside a Tim Hortons in Oshawa, Ont., on Saturday.
Officers say they responded to an armed individual report near Simcoe Street and Winchester Road shortly after 8 p. m. and discovered an injured man who was later declared dead at the scene.
According to police, a confrontation took place between two groups of men outside the Tim Hortons, resulting in fatal injuries to the 23-year-old victim.
They state that the suspect turned himself in to police in Oshawa on Monday and was arrested without any issues.
The suspect, from Brampton, Ont., is facing charges of second-degree murder.
Investigators believe this incident is isolated and there are no ongoing public safety concerns.
