OXFORD – Many folks stepped out in Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Tillsonburg to lend support to those facing pain, hunger, and homelessness. The three towns took part in the Coldest Night of the Year event Saturday evening. The outdoor walk in Woodstock achieved the tenth highest fundraising total in the nation with $184,296 collected for Operation Sharing. The Friendly City also placed third for teams with 77 participants and eighth for walkers with 490 registered. Tillsonburg’s event raised $50,977 while Ingersoll brought in $52,931, totaling over $103,908 combined. This money will help support the transition homes managed by United Way Oxford. A total of 222 communities across Canada joined the national campaign and raised nearly $15 million overall. Source link
