A man in his 20s has lost his life following a crash in Brampton on Saturday night, according to Peel Regional Police.
Officers arrived at around 10:44 p. m. for a two-vehicle accident near Mc Vean Drive and Countryside Drive, said Const. Laurie Mc Cann at the scene Sunday.
The passenger from one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, she stated. The driver of that same vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.
The driver and three passengers in the other car were also hospitalized, said Mc Cann. She noted that the driver and one passenger have serious injuries, another passenger has non-life threatening injuries, while the last passenger has life altering injuries.
All individuals involved in the incident are men in their 20s, and no further details will be released until families have been notified, she mentioned.

When officers reached the site, one vehicle was located at the intersection while the other had veered off into a nearby home’s lawn, explained Mc Cann.
“It is early on in the investigation, but it does appear that one of the vehicles did run a red light,” she added, noting that alcohol does not seem to be a factor.
She mentioned investigators are looking into this case and “charges are pending.”
Mc Cann pointed out there have been three major collisions within Peel region over just 24 hours. She urged drivers not to drink before getting behind the wheel and to stay alert regarding traffic lights and pedestrians.
She encouraged anyone with information or video footage to reach out to police.
All roads have reopened after earlier closures for cleanup efforts and investigations, reported Peel police.
