The Town of Oakville has announced a significant weather event following Thursday’s storm, which means the usual timelines for parks and roads maintenance services have been put on hold.
This announcement started at 12 p. m. on Friday and will stay in effect until further notice, giving crews the ability to focus on storm response tasks related to fallen trees and damaged branches from the storm.
Crews have been busy working non-stop to clear away downed trees and large limbs that are either tangled in hydro lines or blocking roads, sidewalks, and other public areas.
The town advises residents that they may experience longer wait times for service due to the high number of requests and asks everyone to be patient while cleanup efforts are ongoing.
Drivers should take care, watch for crews working by the roadside, and keep their distance from any hydro wires that might be on the ground.
