A 25-year-old man without a permanent address has been charged after York Regional Police reported that a sex worker was robbed at knifepoint in a Markham home last month.
The suspect is facing charges related to the robbery of a sex trade worker in Markham from last month.
According to a July 3 news release from York Regional Police, the suspect arrived at a residence seeking sexual services near Mc Cowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue around 11:30 p. m. on June 16. After being alone with the victim, he threatened them with a knife and demanded money before police apprehended him at the scene.
Yousif Babiker, 25, who does not have a fixed address, is charged with armed robbery, obtaining sexual services for payment, and two counts of breaching his judicial release order.
Investigators mentioned that there could be more victims involved.
