Cheri Lee Ohlhauser was born in 1961 in Ontario, Oregon, to Joe and Jeanette Lee. She passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Meridian, Idaho, after a brave five-year fight against breast cancer. She was 64 years old.
Cheri grew up in Ontario and attended Ontario High School. She was a loving wife to her husband, Dennis Ohlhauser, with whom she built a strong and lasting bond. Together they raised their daughter, Alexandria, who brought joy to her life. Cheri was a wonderful spouse and partner known for her warmth, kindness, and steadfast support.
She appreciated life’s simple pleasures – especially trips to the Oregon coast where she found tranquility in the waves’ sound, the fresh air, and the stunning scenery of the coastline. Time spent with family was what she valued most. Cheri loved creating memories filled with laughter and quiet encouragement for those she cared about. Cooking was another passion of hers; she had a talent for it and enjoyed bringing friends and family together over meals made with love.
One of the highlights of Cheri’s life was becoming a grandmother who lovingly went by “Yaya.” She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment with them-whether they were coloring at the table or having fun at the park. Embracing her role as Yaya filled her heart with immense happiness.
Her strength during her illness inspired all who knew her. Cheri faced challenges with quiet determination while always putting her family’s comfort first.
She is survived by her mother, Jeanette (Charles) Drouillard; devoted husband Dennis Ohlhauser; cherished daughter Alexandria (Morgan) Ciavarella; beloved grandchildren Korra Ciavarella and Mc Coy Ciavarella – who knew her as their caring Yaya – along with extended family members and close friends who will keep her memory alive in their hearts. Cheri will be missed dearly for the love she shared so freely throughout her beautiful life. May she rest peacefully as the ocean’s gentle waves echo her calm spirit.
A Celebration of Life honoring Cheri’s remarkable journey will take place on February 28, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Z located at 6202 W State St., Boise, ID 83703.
