On Tuesday, May 12, surrounded by his loving family, Mark Thibert passed away peacefully at the age of 42. Mark was a remarkably strong individual who faced numerous challenges throughout his life, yet he always managed to make the most of every moment. He consistently prioritized others over himself, and everyone who knew him felt the kindness, generosity, and warmth that he shared.
He was an enthusiastic sports fan-particularly when it came to supporting the Detroit Red Wings, Pistons, Lions, and Tigers-as well as a devoted animal lover and music fan. Mark also had a talent for playing guitar and found joy in creating music. Whether engaging in his favorite activities or spending time with loved ones, in the words of Metallica, “nothing else mattered.”
Mark is survived by his caring parents, Barb and Keith; his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Andrew; his brother, Jeffrey; along with his beloved nieces, Lucy and Sophia. He will also be profoundly missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Mark’s departure has left a void in the hearts of those who loved him that can never truly be filled. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the lasting impression he made on all fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation and Celebration of Mark’s Life will occur at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Saturday, May 16th from 2-5 pm and again from 7-9 pm. Cremation will follow. Feel free to wear your favorite sports gear to honor Mark’s passion for sports. If you wish to contribute further, donations can be made to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society.
