After six months of anticipation, Playdium has officially opened its latest location in Ontario, making it the largest venue for the entertainment complex at Vaughan Mills.
On Wednesday, parent company Cineplex shared the news about the opening of Playdium at the suburban shopping center near Highway 400 and Rutherford Road, which is roughly a 30-minute walk from Canada’s Wonderland or just a five-minute drive.
This new site is the fourth Playdium in Ontario, with a fifth one located all the way out east in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Covering 24,000 square feet, Vaughan Mills boasts more attractions than any other Playdium across Canada, according to the brand. It’s sure to outshine Dave & Buster’s, the only other entertainment complex found in Vaughan.
A major highlight of this new spot is Playdium’s very first Gel Blaster arena in the Greater Toronto Area. This exciting attraction blends elements of laser tag and paintball while allowing players to compete using less messy water-based “gellets.”
In addition to classic arcade favorites like Pac-Man, Mario Kart and Odin’s Hammer Strike, guests can enjoy over 85 other games that are available at various Ontario locations. Other fun activities at Vaughan Mills include glow-in-the-dark augmented reality duckpin bowling, a multi-level ropes course with zip line access, and an immersive wall-climbing experience.
If you’re feeling hungry after all that excitement, the venue features a variety of quick-service food options including comforting favorites like burgers, pizza and nachos along with plenty of desserts and drinks to refuel you.
The grand opening of Playdium at Vaughan Mills comes five years following the closure of the large Playdium Mississauga and just one year after launching its 22,000-square-foot location at CF Fairview Mall in Toronto.
