With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the news of Teresa Liburdi (née Rinaldi), a dedicated mother, adored nonna, loving sister, sister-in-law, zia, and dear friend. Teresa left us peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by her family’s love.

Born on January 5, 1941, in Ceccano, Frosinone, Italy, Teresa created a life filled with love, family bonds, hard work, and kindness. Her warmth and caring nature made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Teresa was the cherished daughter of the late Federico and Natalina Rinaldi. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Luciano D’Annibale and her beloved niece Enza Cristofanilli.

She is survived by her loving children: Roberta, Sandro (Rosa), and Mario (Deana) Liburdi. The greatest joy for Teresa came from her grandchildren: Frank; Sylvia (Brett) Pavelich; Andrew (Sofia); Christina Liburdi; Talia; and Ottavio Liburdi. She took immense pride in each one of them and cherished every moment they spent together. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who all held special places in her heart.

Her brothers Michael Rinaldi and Luigi (Louisa) Rinaldi will also fondly remember her along with her sisters in Italy: Franca D’Annibale and Lorenza (Romualdo) Cristofanilli.

Before fully dedicating herself to family life, Teresa worked as a nurse assistant at a children’s hospital in Rome. Her compassion and nurturing spirit provided comfort to countless children and their families. However, being a mother and nonna brought her the most pride in life.

Teresa found happiness in simple things. She loved cooking and baking meals that gathered family around her table. Long walks, dancing to Italian music, tending to her garden while canning its produce were among her favorite activities. She enjoyed taking photographs to capture precious family moments. Her home was always welcoming with an open door policy where there was always food on the table.

Teresa lived a life filled with love for family along with resilience and faith. While we feel an enormous loss without her presence here today-her spirit remains alive through all those she impacted directly with unconditional love throughout the years she shared with us all.
She will be missed deeply but remembered fondly.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Village of Aspen Lake-especially those from La Salle neighbourhood-for their compassion during this journey with Teresa.

A visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd East , Windsor , ON ) on Monday , June 22 , 2026 from 2 pm – 5 pm & 7 pm -9 pm. Visiting continues at Banwell Chapel Tuesday , June 23 , 2026 starting at 10 am until time of Funeral Service scheduled for11 :15 am. Entombment follows afterwards at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located(1805 ON-3 Oldcastle ON ).

If you wish to honor Teresa’s memory instead of sending flowers , donations may be made toward Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County-a cause that became very meaningful over time for many within our family.
