Despite the ongoing warnings about impaired driving, the Ontario Provincial Police caught two more drivers suspected of being under the influence over the weekend in Essex County.
Just before 8 p. m. on Friday, OPP officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 20 near Mc Cain Sideroad in Kingsville.
The violation was not moving to another lane to give space for emergency vehicles on the shoulder of the road.
However, a 32-year-old man from Windsor also faced charges for operating a motor vehicle while impaired on two counts.
The second individual was arrested early Sunday morning on County Road 20 near Iler Road in Essex.
A 21-year-old man from Leamington was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and failing or refusing to comply with a demand.
Both individuals received a 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension, and their vehicles were impounded for one week.
The OPP urges anyone who suspects someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs to contact them. For urgent complaints, call 911; if it’s not urgent, reach out at 1-888-310-1122. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
