The Ontario Provincial Police has set up a tip line to support its investigation into fraudulent activities at the London Health Sciences Centre.
The London Police Service began this investigation in October 2024. It is now being carried out in collaboration with the OPP’s Serious Fraud Office.
“We remain fully committed to this investigation and value the continued partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police and the Serious Fraud Office. Shared expertise and investigative collaboration are essential in advancing this complex file. We also encourage anyone with information to come forward, as even the smallest detail may assist investigators,” said Detective Superintendent Sean Travis, Criminal Investigation Division, London Police Service.
In July 2025, LHSC filed two civil lawsuits totaling $60-million. Its statement of claim indicates that fraudulent activity was discovered in the hospital’s facilities management procurement practices between 2013 and 2024. The lawsuit targets Dipesh Patel (former Vice President of Facilities), Derek Lall, Paresh Soni, Nilesh Modi, Varsha Patel, and several named companies, seeking $50 million.
A second statement of claim for $10 million was made against Dr Jackie Schleifer Taylor (previous President and CEO), Bradley Campbell (previous Corporate Hospital Administrative Executive), Abhi Mukherjee (previous Corporate Services Executive/CFO), and Corpus Sanchez International Consultancy Inc., for breach of fiduciary duties. This claim states that these hospital executives were informed about the fraudulent activity but failed to take any action.
No criminal charges have been filed in connection with this investigation so far.
“Information from the public can be critical in complex fraud investigations. We encourage anyone who may have information to come forward, no matter how minor it may seem. Even small details can play an important role in advancing the investigation,” said Detective Superintendent Jennifer Spurrell, SFO, OPP.
