Provincial police report that a man from Whitby has died following a snowmobile accident in Kearney, Ont., on Saturday.
In a news release on Sunday, the Ontario Provincial Police stated that officers were dispatched to investigate a single snowmobile collision with a tree on Trail AL301 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs at around 2 p. m.
The OPP confirmed that the 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Part of the trail was closed for investigation purposes but has now reopened, according to the OPP’s statement.
Police are urging anyone who may have information to get in touch with them.
