A section of the westbound Highway 401 that was shut down in Whitby following a crash has now partially reopened.

<p A transport truck was involved in the incident, which resulted in a diesel spill.

<p The westbound 401 was closed at Brock Street, and the Consumers Drive on-ramp to the westbound 401 was also blocked off. The right lane at Brock Street has been reopened to traffic, but the two left lanes are still closed.

The OPP reports that drivers can re-enter the highway using the Brock Street on-ramp.

<p Clean-up operations are expected to take around four to six hours.
