A cyclist has lost his life after colliding with a parked trailer, according to Durham police.
The incident took place on Friday around 12:30 p. m. at the intersection of Coronation and Lyndebrook roads in Whitby.
According to police, the cyclist was heading north on Coronation Road when he hit the parked trailer.
Emergency responders found a 68-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
He was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries later on.

The roads in the vicinity were closed for several hours as investigators gathered evidence. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
