A 24-year-old nurse is under multiple charges after a patient at a Whitby mental health hospital was sexually assaulted “on a number of occasions,” according to police.
Durham Regional Police announced on Friday that they arrested someone in connection with an investigation that started back in 2022.
Authorities stated that over six months, the victim was an inpatient at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences within one of the adolescent programs.
