A man lost his life in a single-vehicle accident over the weekend in Whitby.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Highway 401 and Highway 412 shortly after 4 a. m. on Sunday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
A passenger, aged 24, was taken to the hospital where he was later declared dead, police reported.
The driver also suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
For the investigation, Highway 412 southbound was shut down at Dundas Street West.
