The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that seven individuals are facing several charges as part of a drug-trafficking investigation that spanned from the Toronto area to Napanee.

Police from OPP and Durham Region executed search warrants at residences in Whitby and Napanee, where they discovered drugs and cash.

Authorities stated they uncovered 16 grams of suspected fentanyl, one kilogram of suspected cocaine, Percocet tablets, a loaded handgun, ammunition, and approximately $20,000 in both Canadian and U. S. currency.

They also seized around $40,000 worth of stolen jewelry, along with cellphones, scales, and other items related to drug trafficking.

The police reported that seven people aged between 24 and 55 were arrested on drug-related and firearm charges.

According to them, six of those arrested remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing while one was released and is set to appear in court later.
