A 34-year-old woman who was riding a motorcycle is now in critical condition following an accident in Whitby on Saturday afternoon.
According to Durham Regional Police, around 4:10 p. m., officers were dispatched to the area of Dundas Street West and Swordfish Drive, just east of Highway 412, due to a motorcycle collision.
The motorcyclist was heading east when she lost control and crashed into a vehicle traveling west, police reported.
She was transported to a trauma center in Toronto and remains there in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed, according to police.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
