Are you searching for a great place to swim this summer? You should check out this beautiful beach in Ontario.

With its long stretch of soft white sand, sparkling waters, and sunny shores, it’s an amazing spot for a summer getaway, and it was recognized as one of the top places to swim in Ontario for 2026.

Wasaga Beach is a favorite summer hangout located on an inlet of Georgian Bay.

A recent ranking by Zolo highlights it as one of the top five swimming locations in Ontario this summer. With its vast shoreline and numerous beach areas, it’s easy to understand why.

The entire beach extends over 14 kilometres, making it the longest freshwater beach globally.

According to Bruce Grey Simcoe, Wasaga Beach “has been long hailed as one of the premier tourist destinations in Ontario. For over a century tourists have travelled to the welcoming shores of Nottawasaga Bay, to stroll along 14 kilometres of white sand beach, swim in warm, clean waters and enjoy the panoramic mountain views across the Bay.”

You can choose from eight different beach areas where you can swim, relax on the shore, and soak up some sunshine. Whether you prefer Allenwood Beach for a calm atmosphere or Beach Area 1 for more activity, there’s something for everyone.

Besides its beaches, Wasaga Beach also features 100 kilometres of scenic trails worth exploring, so make sure to wear some comfy shoes. One highlight is visiting one of Ontario’s largest uninterrupted parabolic dune systems at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park-this area has “a forest filled with rolling hills sculpted entirely from sand,” according to the town’s website.

Other beaches that were included in Zolo’s list are Sauble Beach and three beaches within Sandbanks Provincial Park.

So grab your goggles and enjoy some sun at the world’s longest freshwater beach this summer!
