A man from Tiny Township is facing multiple charges following a series of alleged vehicle thefts and crashes, including one that hurt an OPP officer.

On Sunday afternoon at around 1:30, the Southern Georgian Bay OPP got a report about a stolen Honda CR-V from Penetanguishene.

Just after 2:45 p. m., police claim the same individual took a Ford F-250 from a spot in Innisfil.

Shortly afterward, police say the suspect drove to Wasaga Beach where they were involved in two hit-and-run incidents.

The OPP found the suspect’s vehicle on Bells Park Avenue, where it crashed into a police cruiser and also struck a nearby home.

The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The 52-year-old suspect faces several charges, including:

Theft of motor vehicle – two counts Operation while prohibited Fail to comply with probation order Assault peace officer – cause bodily harm Possession of property obtained by crime Flight from peace officer – two counts Dangerous operation causing bodily harm Resist peace officer Operation while impaired causing bodily harm Refusal to comply with demand – bodily harm Mischief – destroys or damages property – two counts Fail to remain

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
