York Regional Police have identified two men who were shot and killed outside a home in Vaughan on Wednesday night.

Authorities report that 49-year-old Pasquale Casciato and 34-year-old Christian Belsito were fatally shot while standing outside a residence near Kaiser and Forest drives at around 5:30 p. m.

In a news release, police stated they believe the shooting was intentional.

A constable who spoke to reporters at the scene confirmed that one of the victims lived at the home where the shooting took place. The other man was also said to be a resident of the neighborhood.

The officer mentioned that investigators are looking into whether there’s any connection between this shooting and a vehicle fire reported about 12 kilometers away from where it happened.

The SUV was found fully engulfed in flames in the area of Huntington and Kirby roads.

Investigators are urging witnesses to come forward.

Police haven’t released any details about suspects, but say their investigation is still active.
